Designed for larger-caliber platforms without sacrificing the modularity that defines the Maxim Defense muzzle system, the QD Hatebrake in 5/8x24 brings the same suppressor-ready, brake-convertible functionality to .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and compatible builds.

The Maxim Defense QD Hatebrake is a two-component modular muzzle system for 5/8x24 threaded barrels, incorporating a QD Flash Hider base and a cone-profile Hate Shroud for configurable suppressed and unsuppressed use.

The QD Flash Hider threads to the barrel and establishes the system foundation. The Hate Shroud attaches over it to create a muzzle brake configuration that directs propellant gas forward in a cone-shaped pattern, reducing recoil impulse and limiting muzzle flash visibility. When suppressor use is needed, the Hate Shroud is removed and replaced with a HUB QD Adapter (sold separately) for positive, repeatable suppressor lockup. The system's geometry accommodates MDX and SDX handguards throughout the transition, keeping the rifle's profile clean regardless of configuration.
