The SOCOM profile's forward mass absorbs and dissipates heat during rapid or sustained fire, a real advantage when a short barrel is run hard in close-quarters or vehicle-defense roles, and the superfinished nitride BCG reduces friction and simplifies cleaning versus a standard phosphate finish. Because this 10.5" barrel measures under 16", this complete upper is intended only for an AR pistol or a legally registered short-barreled rifle — attaching it to a standard rifle lower without the correct configuration violates federal law.
